Carnival is joy, but joy is also resistance. During the founding years of Notting Hill Carnival, communities were divided by racism and violence, yet Carnival stood strong. The people claimed the streets with dance, drums, and defiance. This section honours Carnival as protest, a reminder that freedom and culture is worth fighting for.
